Asa and Vanessa Watson’s openness and willingness to address tough questions about God and faith have fostered deep friendships and created opportunities for sharing the gospel. The Watsons, serving with the IMB in Germany, provide a safe space for candid conversations by hosting people in their home. Many are curious about why they chose to live in Germany, especially given Asa’s unique background.
Asa played football for the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys and later worked for NASCAR. His involvement in a local boxing gym has opened additional doors. Training a light heavyweight boxer and sharing his NFL background allowed him to explain his family’s mission in Frankfurt. This connection led to monthly worship services at the gym, part of the house church network they’re involved with. The gym setting attracts around 60 attendees, including people who might not feel comfortable going to a traditional house church.
In addition to opening their home, the Watsons find natural ways to share their faith through their presence in the community and their intentional efforts to build relationships and live life alongside others.
Our church supports the ministry of Asa and Vanessa Watson when we give through the Cooperative Program.
