A Call to Prayer for Minnesota and Wisconsin
We are only a few weeks out from the Annual Meeting. I am into my fourth month as the new Executive Director. I’ve learned much in these early days; perhaps most importantly, I am beginning to understand the scope of what I do not yet know. What I do know with certainty is this: I deeply need your prayers. I hope to be covered in prayer by all of you who love Minnesota and Wisconsin.
I’m reaching out to our approximately two hundred churches with a specific request. Please join me in praying for several critical needs in our two states.
Pray for the Lord’s Power in Our States
Jesus declared, “Apart from me you can do nothing”—and Lord, we know this truth intimately. Our communities carry wounds that need your healing touch:
- The ongoing pain from the George Floyd incident and subsequent unrest
- The loss of Daunte Wright
- The tragedy of the Waukesha Christmas parade attack
- The shooting at Annunciation Catholic School
- Multiple mass shootings at Minneapolis homeless encampments
- The recent shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison
- Natural disasters: storms, tornadoes, and flooding.
We desperately need the Lord to grant us His loving favor. This is where our strength must come from. We ask for strength that will enable us to stand firm. Lord, won’t you raise us up?
A Call for 200 Hours of Prayer
I’m asking for a commitment of 200 hours of prayer focused on ministry within Minnesota and Wisconsin. This does not require simultaneous prayer or even 200 consecutive hours of prayer. This could be two hundred or more people willing to dedicate one hour each to pray for our State Convention at a time and place they choose.
Looking Forward Together
As we approach our Annual Meeting and begin crafting a new five-year strategic plan, let’s ask God to pour out His blessings upon us. Let’s unite our voices in saying:
“God, we need you. We see that the world needs you. Help Minnesota and Wisconsin to be faithful servants for your glory.”
